The recommended
daily dosage of magnesium is 320 mg per day for women and 420 mg per day for
men. You can’t get this amount of magnesium
from food alone if you tried, so supplements would ensure you will get just
what you need. My best recommendation
for supplements are liquid, powder form (which I like), or the pill form of
magnesium glycinate which has no side effects when taken appropriately.
Side effects
include a mild laxative effect which can be a benefit to those with chronic
constipation or Irritable Bowel Syndrome.
Magnesium overdose can result in diarrhea and nausea. Extreme overdoses can be fatal. So stick to the suggested usage on your
supplement labels!
